Planning Your First Visit

1

Choose a Class Time

Check our Schedule page and pick a time that works for you. Wednesday or Saturday classes are great for first visits.

2

Arrive Early

Plan to arrive 10-15 minutes before class starts to find parking, remove shoes, and get settled.

3

Remove Your Shoes

When you enter, you'll see a shoe area just inside the door. Please remove shoes there. Socks or bare feet are both fine.

4

Find the Meditation Hall

Follow signs or ask anyone nearby — they'll happily point you in the right direction.

5

Choose Your Seat

Select either a floor cushion or a chair. There's no right choice — pick what works for your body.

6

Introduce Yourself

Let someone know it's your first visit. We'll make sure you feel welcome and answer any questions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to register in advance?
Registration is encouraged but not required. Walk-ins are always welcome.
Is the building accessible?
Yes. The entrance is flat at street level with no steps, and there is ample free parking directly adjacent to the building. Inside, the meditation hall and restrooms are all on one level with no stairs required. Everything is flat or ramped throughout.
I have physical limitations. Can I still participate?
Absolutely. Chairs are always available — there is no requirement to sit on the floor. Let us know about any needs when you arrive and we will make sure you are comfortable from the moment you walk in.
Is this only for Buddhists?
Not at all. People of all faiths and no faith are welcome. Many visitors practice meditation for stress relief and mental clarity without adopting Buddhist beliefs. We follow the Dhammakaya tradition — learn more at en.dhammakaya.net.
What if my mind won't stop thinking?
That's completely normal — especially for beginners. A busy mind is part of the process. Our instructors will help you understand that there's no such thing as failing at meditation.
